Overview

For generations, sport fishermen have found the waters in and around Bald Head Island rich with the bounties of the sea. In recent years, anglers competing in the Bald Head Island Fishing Rodeo have discovered that these waters seem to be regenerative. And this year's event promises some of the greatest fish tales ever.

Whether you fish from your home port or the Bald Head Island Marina, you'll find the Bald Head Island Fishing Rodeo one of the most competitive in the region, as well as offering some appealing cash prizes. And with many special activities planned for families as well as anglers, the Bald Head Island Fishing Rodeo has a specially designed "lure" for excellent sport fishing and family fun.

In addition to having unobstructed access to the Atlantic's Gulf Stream, Cape Fear River and Intracoastal Waterway, Bald Head Island Marina's modern amenities include floating docks, fuel, power hook-ups, showers, laundry, nearby restaurants and a convenience store. An attentive dock staff is always on hand to assist marina guests.

Surrounded by the picturesque residential community of Harbour Village, the marina is also the gateway to an extraordinary island community. Picket fences, broad pedestrian walkways, and cedar-sided homes with ample porches and weathered rockers lure yachtsmen and anglers to come ashore and explore this rare cape island.

Families who accompany their competing anglers soon discover there's a variety of leisure activities. Memberships in these clubs allow access to an 18-hole golf course, tennis, croquet, pools, fitness centers, beach access and a variety of dining facilities.
